“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
My name is Martin Bortowski. I’m a growing web-developer and designer who is always seeking to expand my knowledge of everything on the web. I have a passion for design and I believe there is an opportunity to create something beautiful with every project.
Coming from a business background I know nothing is more important than conversions. UX and UI are always on my mind when I’m designing a website. But a site for business is only as good as it’s conversion rate. I believe effective web design is more than just pretty pixels on a user’s screen. Truly effective web design is all about the UX and how that experience converts into customers.
I’m always looking for the best way to solve a problem, no matter the language, time or dedication that it requires. In my world, anything is possible. And if it’s not, I’ll find a way to make it so.
I am multilingual and internationally educated. I studied in Germany, England and Spain. I also speak three languages fluently and I get around in two others. Intercultural communication is a challenge I love.
My approach to design is concept driven, meaning that there is usually an idea at the heart of what I do. I strive to deliver big ideas that inspire, encourage participation and have the power to change attitudes and behaviour.
I have gotten a solid business management education on which I can rely on. It gives me a great advantage over the competition, especially when it comes to online start-up’s.
In my spare time, I love editing videos and creating animations with Premiere Pro and After Effects. This is very much another passion in my life which can be an asset in some projects.
I love using Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools to get a clear insight in a site. I love analysing data, setting up a digital marketing strategy and seeing how little improvements can boost visitors, leads and conversions.
I’m always trying hard to keep up with all the “new stuff”. I like to think of myself as a fast learner who adapts quickly to change and eager to learn new methods, procedures and technologies. I love learning!
My approach is creative and user-oriented, measuring success by solving problems. I distill often-complex user and business requirements down to the simplest feasible solution, producing elegant user interfaces and experiences which respond quickly and predictively. I don’t compromise the user experience because of technical concerns.
I create websites that allow the user to experience the website in the best and most appropriate way suited to the device they are using. By working using progressive enhancement, a website is delivered with a responsive layout that can best make use of the space available on the smallest to largest devices.
Feel free to reach out to me with anything that’s on your mind. I’m always happy to hear from people and I’ll respond as quickly as possible. E-Mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
